German-based sensor startup Blickfeld has introduced its smart lidar solution that reportedly enables the capturing and processing of 3D data on a single device for the first time. Called Qb2, the smart lidar sensor is based on Blickfeld’s solid-state software-defined lidar technology and removes the need for additional computers. It also brings faster insights, improved response times and better bandwidth available via edge computing. The sensor provides real-time insights to plan better and make data-driven decisions as well as gain autonomous data collection in public spaces such as shopping centers, airports and train stations.
